3 Reasons to Consider a Wedding Ceremony Documentary Film
Wedding Highlight film versus Wedding Ceremony Documentary or Full Wedding Day Documentary Style Film... that is the question! At least it is one of the most frequently asked questions we receive from most couples who reach out to us to schedule a video consultation. Although initially, couples usually know immediately that they want to capture their wedding day with a highlight film at a minimum.
While many of our wedding highlight films have a documentary-style feel (largely depending on the length of the highlight film), there are several reasons why you may want to consider adding a Ceremony Documentary Film or Full Wedding Day Documentary Film to your wedding day wishlist.
For the sake of this blog, we will focus primarily on the Ceremony Documentary Film and share more about the Full Wedding Day Documentary Film in a future blog post. If you haven't seen the difference between all of the styles of films, in addition, to live streaming offerings, click here.
Now, before we dive into the reasons you should consider a Ceremony Documentary film, we invite you to watch our most recent Ceremony Documentary Film that we just delivered to a client below. This sweet couple's wedding day ceremony was at The Laurel Wedding Venue in Grapevine, Texas.
While you'll notice they chose to have a traditional Christian Wedding Ceremony, we have had the honor of capturing wedding ceremonies of all religions and cultures. There are so many ways to celebrate love and we look forward to sharing more wedding day ceremonies, including cultural celebrations we have captured in future posts. Again, you can explore more of our work and the different types of weddings we have captured here.
Now that you have seen what a Ceremony Documentary Film is, let's jump into the 3 main reasons many couples choose this style of film in addition to a Cinematic Wedding Highlight Film!
1. Remember every word of your wedding vows
When it comes to preserving your full and complete wedding vows, the Wedding Ceremony Documentary is the best way to do this! Reason being, in a highlight film, we are not always able to fit the audio of your complete vows depending of the length of your highlight film. In case you are not as familiar with a Wedding Highlight Film, it is an artistic edit of your day set to cinematic music.
2. Remember every word of your officiants & family members prayers, speeches, & cultural traditions
Just like preserving your full and complete wedding vows, the same goes for your officiant's message, sermon, prayers, and any other speeches and cultural traditions that take place. Again, it is not always possible to relive every second of these moments within a Wedding Highlight Film for the reasons mentioned above.
3. Relive the emotion of your wedding ceremony from the beginning of your wedding processional to the end of your wedding recessional from multiple angles
On your wedding day, there will be all kinds of emotions going on! The expressions of the bride & groom as the bride walks down the aisle, the expressions of parents and grandparents throughout the ceremony, the expression of the bride and groom as they exchange vows, the expression of the bride & groom as they are pronounced husband & wife...the list goes on! With 2 cinematographers and our 4 camera setup, you will be able to relive all of your cherished moments.
On that note, Ceremony Documentary Films usually range anywhere from 15-30 minutes and can sometimes exceed that depending on the type of wedding ceremony you are having. (Traditional weddings, Catholic weddings, & other cultural wedding ceremonies can last 1.5 hours and more!)
What style of wedding film suits you as a couple? Perhaps a documentary style is the one and only most important film to you! Or perhaps you just want a high energy, artistic edit that represents you as a couple. Or perhaps you want the option to remember your wedding day through multiple styles of films depending on your mood. Sometimes couples opt for a highlight film to share with friends and family, and simply enjoy watching their documentary films just the two of you on your anniversary every year or just because!
